Quilts on Church Pews! Novel idea!

Not long ago I was asked to speak & show the Civil War quilts at an annual town celebration in Swea City, Iowa, a small town about 20 minutes from our farm.  The day was beautiful with a short rain shower making it's way through the area which only served to elevate the humidity.

Anyway, the presentation was to be in a local church, but here's the big surprise -- the church pews were draped with quilts - old & new!  Isn't it just awesome - - I had to share pictures with you.

Isn't it just neat!  Sorry I missed a few because some ladies began to take them down before I got my pictures.  The pews had been totally covered in the beginning.

Anyway, I thought it was an idea maybe someone else could use.

Our weather has cooled down a bit & rain is in the forecast; great!  Have a super week!

  1. What a fantastic way to display the quilts. They look great. I hope there was room for people to sit while you spoke!

  2. Actually, Joy, the talk & showing of my quilts was held in a totally different room in the church. It was a wonderful afternoon of sharing.
